That's steep as in: you keep thinking "why on Earth did they build a
city *here*?", and then you keep reminding yourself "oh yes, of course,
gold"...

If you're close enough to the kerb, the car can't roll far whichever way
the wheels are pointed.  But I think most people manage to figure it
out...
