Beta release of the rc shell available, rc-1.5b5

A new beta release of rc is available: rc-1.5b5.

rc is a reimplementation for Unix, by Byron Rakitzis, of the Plan 9
shell. It offers much the same capabilities as a traditional Bourne
shell, but with a much cleaner syntax.

I am now maintaining rc. I have mostly been working to make rc easier
to build (it now uses autoconf) and better integrated with readline. A
few bugs and other oddities have also been fixed.

I believe this beta to be solid and stable, but it needs a lot more
testing before it can be made a final release.

You can obtain rc from here.

If you don't have gzip handy, remove the `.gz' for an uncompressed
tarball. If you are unable to use HTTP to obtain rc, please contact me
and we'll figure out some way to get it to you.

More information about rc can be found here.

Thanks to all the people who have contributed to this release, by
