Got a question about associative arrays.....

This doesn't make a lot of sense.  There's no obvious way to "pull a
whole file into an associative array".  (Unless the file happens to be
an NDBM file, or similar: see dbmopen() and tie() in the perlfunc(1) man
page.)

Can you post a few lines of your code, so we can get a clearer idea of
what you're trying to do?
